Days Inn by Wyndham Muscle Shoals Florence

The room looked clean when we arrived, but I found a strong men’s cologne or deodorant smell on just the two top pillows. I’ve worked in housekeeping, so I know what that can mean. I took them to the front desk and asked for replacement pillowcases, but that interaction was unprofessional. The next day, when my husband asked about adding one night after we’d stayed just one night, the receptionist gave him a reprimanding look and said, “oof,b you have been here for quite some time, I don't know if I can extend the stay. We can't have people living here.” That was completely inappropriate. Earlier, a non English speaking housekeeping male friend stared at me through the window while I was bent over cleaning up, and didn’t look away when I turned around. Not okay. The two encounters with different female receptionists are enough for us. My husband works here on weekends and sometimes stays here, but we’ll be going back to the much better Best Western. I don’t recommend this place.

The shower was nice and hot, with plenty of pressure, and I slept well. The rooms are small and cute, clean, and older but remodeled. From the trucks and men hanging around when I arrived, it looked like a lot of working people stay here. For the price, I do recommend DAYS INN by Wyndham Muscle Shoals.

We had a perfect spot for our little weekend getaway. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the breakfast room was clean and pleasant. The host kept everything stocked and tidy. Breakfast was a decent quick meal before hitting the road, with biscuits, fried eggs, sausage patties, cereal, yogurt, muffins, toast, a waffle maker, and juice. Room 140 was a good size, with a king bed and a love seat. The bed was a bit hard and high, but still comfortable overall. The bathroom was a little small, though clean and comfortable, and the shower head felt refreshing.

I booked a room through booking.com and used after-pay, but when I arrived the woman said they don’t rent to locals or people from surrounding counties. She wouldn’t help me get a refund or tell me who the owner was. I’d pick the Red Roof next door any day of the week. I’d leave no stars if I could.
