Shoreline Inn & Conference Center, Ascend Collection

I make this my Christmas gift to myself every year, and my 91year Mom enjoyed it too. The manager was great in getting me my room. We slept warm and comfortably, and the bed was very comfortable. Fog blocked the view for a while, but we went to the spa area, where the hot tub was nice and warm. Later Muskegon Lake was clear and lovely to see. Checkout was quick. You can walk to a lot of restaurants and bars, and Western Ave is well lit, with a drinking district. Fraunthal Theater & Hilt Building have events and other interesting things to do, and there’s the retired ship LST 393 museum, with war items and a touching Viet Nam exhibit.

The room views were fantastic, even with snow falling all day. We were in the area for an event, and the hotel’s 1920 travel theme was really nice. There’s a lovely drawing room and a nice pool with two hot tubs. The little restaurant serves breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, and waffles. The sandwiches were good.

The room was exceptionally clean, and I slept really well in the comfortable bed. The bathroom stood out too, spacious, modern, and spotless. Everything felt welcoming and easy, and I left refreshed and well looked after. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it for a comfortable, relaxing visit.

Muskegon has really grown, and there are lots of restaurants to choose from now. The hotel itself has an in-house restaurant and another one next door. We stayed here 20 years ago, soon after it opened, and came back this weekend. It hasn’t changed, and it’s been well maintained. The staff are very friendly, and the bed was just right for comfort.
