SureStay by Best Western Muskogee

A clean, affordable hotel with friendly staff under new management. They’re remodeling, so new furniture should be coming soon.

I won’t stay here again. The room was dirty and smelled bad, the floor had visible stuff all over it, and the furniture was stained. The phone didn’t even have a cord to plug in. There was no ice or water, and the pool wasn’t working, with no notice online or at check-in. It seems the new owners have let the place go. Housekeeping didn’t come during our four-night stay until we asked on the third night, after my son dropped his cologne and broke the glass bottle. I told the staff and cleaned up what I could. When we got back that night, chunks of glass were still on the floor. They’d had more than 14 hours and seemed to have only swept it up. Just gross.

The sheets were damp, the AC didn’t work, and the shower was dirty. The room had a strong mold and mildew smell. For three days we couldn’t get the staff to clean or service it. There were no towels, and when we asked at the desk, they gave us only small pool towels and acted annoyed that we needed four. The staff were inattentive and had a really bad attitude. Absolutely horrible. You’d be better off sleeping in your car, outside, behind a dumpster, or anywhere else.

No pool, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, and there was barely any cable. No shower curtain or closet doors, damp sheets, and only three tiny pillows for two people. They even left a used tampon in the top bathroom drawer. Definitely not worth $200 a night. More like Motel 6 value.
