Myrtle Beach Resort by Beach Vacations

I liked that every room has its own bathroom, and there's a spacious kitchen, dining area, and living room. It's easy to get around from here, with a great location not far from the beach, stores, and restaurants.

The first impression was lovely, with turtles coming right up to us in the river. The room looked clean and smelled fine when we arrived, though the bathroom needed more attention and the floors felt slimy. After driving 8+ hours, we didn't inspect closely and went to the beach. Later, when I pulled back the twin bedding to get ready for bed, three roaches crawled out. I was furious and called the service number, but at 9:18 p.m. we'd already been waiting on the phone for 45 minutes with no answer. The comforters looked dirty too. They need to clean better and replace the bedding. Such a disappointment, because from outside and at first glance the place looks beautiful, especially for the price.

The staff were friendly, and the woman at check-in was great. When our AC stopped working the first night, we were told someone would call back, but nobody did. I called again the next day, and a really nice guy had someone there within 10 minutes to fix it. The units themselves, though, were awful. We rented three two-bedroom, two-bath units. Paint was peeling, bathrooms had mold, and the refrigerators had mold around and inside the seals. The carpet was so bad we wore socks all the time, and my friend cut his foot on the tack strip between the kitchen and dining area. We had to use lawn chairs and sports chairs we'd brought just to sit at the tables. There'd been no real updating. We were a group of men golfing, so we put up with it because we spent most of the day golfing and eating and basically just needed somewhere to pass out. I would never bring my family here. If the property replies that we should have told them, I don't see how that would have helped. These units would've taken WEEKS to make livable. The people were awesome, and I hate the thought of families spending a ton on a trip and dealing with this. Men golfing may care less.

The area is really pretty, and the room was spacious with everything we needed. It did the job, and I'd stay again, but I'd bring Clorox and my own pillow and blanket. On closer inspection, there was mold in the shower and dirt on the floors. The bed frame was broken, the patio slider wouldn't lock, the beds were very hard, and the furniture was old and badly outdated. Better cleaning and updated furniture would make this a perfect stay.
