Jay at the front desk was kind, courteous, and did everything he could to help. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 5 p.m., an hour after check-in, and it still wasn’t ready at 6 or 7. We took our luggage to our son’s room, since he had one for his family. I told Jay we needed somewhere to refrigerate diabetic medication and food, and he found us a comparable room at the same rate on our son’s floor. He was so accommodating that it helped me keep my cool. We weren’t the only family caught out by rooms not being ready, so hotel management needs to do better. We should have received a small discount for the long wait, but Jay couldn’t offer one. Whatever they pay him, it isn’t enough, and he’ll make a great manager someday. We loved the location, and the rest of the stay was great, so we’ll be back.

For the second year in a row, we had cleanliness and check-in problems. They checked us in late, and our room still hadn’t been cleaned. Last year, while getting our three toddlers ready for bed, we found a large stain that looked like urine and a blood stain under the sheets. We called for clean sheets and waited over an hour. Weed smell was also around the whole time, even on the balcony, and I kept my kids off it. I wasn’t prepared to explain that smell to my seven-year-old and five-year-old girls.

We stayed in room 438. Bunnie Gore was the best part, and the great beach access, easy parking, and low price helped too. She got us free activities and food after we asked about directions to the rooftop put put, which isn’t there anymore because people couldn’t act like respectful adults. We got a $25 gas card, $75 for Pier 14, two wine tasting tickets, two Sky Wheel tickets, and two putt-putt tickets for Cancun Lagoon. To claim them, we put a $60 hold on our card and got it refunded this morning. It involved sitting through a 90-minute Wyndham time-share presentation. It’s a good deal if you can afford it, and if not, you still get the freebies and leave. The bed was so bad I’m limping, and the Keurig had no cups. There were no plates, cups, or silverware either. A refrigerator truck across the street was extremely loud, people smoked cigarettes everywhere, and it smelled. The pools had green algae and there was garbage around. On the plus side, parking is on the same garage level as your room, a quick walk from the car. The hot tubs are nice, the lazy river is good, and there are plenty of sunbathing spots. Miss Bunnie is the GOAT. It was good value, but I won’t return because my back and joints can’t handle the bed. If that changes, I hope they reach out.

The location is perfect, and the rooms are okay, though the bathrooms are definitely small. We skipped the pools because they looked dirty. Beach tents aren’t allowed, so you’ll need to bring an umbrella or rent one there, which is okay, I guess. I’d suggest going during the week instead of on a weekend.
