The Oceanfront Viking Motel

The staff were super friendly, and I liked that housekeeping left towels, toilet paper, and other essentials in a bag on the door instead of entering the room. Parking wasn't too bad, even when I had to park across the street, and both of my rooms had AC that worked so well it could run you out. There's no carpet, just hard floors, which I liked. The rooms are decent for what you pay, and being next to a fancier hotel makes the cheaper price look even better, lol. The location is excellent, but the strange people hanging around, who seemed homeless, made me a little uneasy about having my kids there. I enjoyed my visit, and I come every year. I'd probably stay again if I could get the same rooms.

The new management and staff made my stay outstanding, and went above and beyond to make it relaxing and enjoyable. The room was clean and free of bugs. They're replacing the old carpet with hardwood floors, and the AC units didn't smell musty or dirty. Kudos to the team.

The location and room sizes at the Viking Motel are perfect, and I was so happy to see a new owner. We used to stay there, but stopped in recent years when it started getting run down. We didn't stay this trip, but the motel is being cleaned up and everything looks great. We'll definitely stay there on our next Myrtle Beach visit. We're excited to return to the Viking Motel!

It's a great value for your money, family friendly, and has clean, comfortable rooms with clean linens, comfy beds, and AC and heat for cold nights. The staff are helpful and accommodating, and know all about local restaurants and shopping. Shops and food are within walking distance, and there's a pool for the kids plus laundry on site. It's an older place, but definitely clean, and I couldn't ask for more accommodating staff. I highly recommend it. If you've never stayed here, you're missing out. I'll always come back.
