Quick Stop Motel

At about 9:30 at night, my two teenagers and I got a flat tire at this motel. All I needed was a jack to lift the car, and they had one, but the man said he had to work at 3:00 and couldn't help us. I was shocked that all those people drove past without offering help. It wasn't even that late. Karma is real, and I hope they get theirs.

The person at the front desk was easygoing, and I had no problems during my stay. The room's old and definitely no palace for a king, but the bed was clean, the water was hot, and the prices were superb. I honestly enjoyed staying here.

The room reeked of smoke, and the sheets and pillows didn't smell like they'd been washed with soap. There was one tiny bar of soap hidden somewhere, and no other shower supplies. Cigarette burns marked the linoleum, while duct tape held the window screen in place all the way around. The cheap air conditioner was so loud I couldn't sleep with it on. The window beside the door was just a fixed pane of glass with no latches. I left the door open, and ten minutes later the front desk called to tell me to close it. When I asked about food nearby, they had little useful knowledge and only suggested McDonald's or Taco Bell, even though I'd passed three Mexican restaurants on the way into town.

The room was small but had a lot of accommodations, and the beds were horrible. The guy was nice enough when I checked in, so things started out fine. The service felt really unprofessional, though. In my opinion, if a customer has to check out early, they should get more than a few minutes' notice.
