Rodeway Inn Mystic - Groton

Room 105 on the first floor was spacious, with two queen beds, a refrigerator, and a small icebox that could hold about six bottles of water. There was also a tiny coffee machine with supplies for each guest to make a cup, plus a blow dryer and microwave. The hotel was clean, and the pool was crystal clear. No lifeguard was on duty, but I didn’t expect one at a small place. The location was wonderful, right across from Mystic Village shopping and the Information Center, a little over a mile from Mystic Seaport and more shops and restaurants, and close to the aquarium and museum. I took off a star because the hotel is dated, the bench and chair were stained, and the towels could’ve been bigger. Still, the price was great for what I got and for being close to everything. I’d definitely stay again.

We had a chance to try the pool, which was a good size and very deep. Our recently renovated room was clean and really nice. The shower had great pressure and the water got very hot. We’ll return!

The room was quiet and spacious, the layout worked well, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Water pressure was great too. I was pleased with the location and how close it was to the places I wanted to visit. I didn’t expect bells and whistles or spotless, high-end cleanliness, so I was happy with what I got. I came to visit Misquamicut Beach and Mystic on a budget. I’d have preferred somewhere nicer, but for an off-season rate around $50-$75, this was a good deal. I went in expecting what a $55-a-night hotel would offer, and with that in mind, I’d give it five stars. If I’m traveling on a budget again, I’ll probably book here next year.

I’ve been to Mystic many times, but tried the Rodeway Inn this trip because I wanted to stay somewhere different. It’s in a prime location, within walking distance of lots of great places. I haven’t seen this level of cleanliness or staff friendliness at the other hotels I usually use. The staff kept meeting and exceeding my expectations. The front desk agent pointed out some fine restaurants and marked must-see places on a map. They gave me a late checkout right away and, after I asked, kept the pool open later than usual. The pool was beautiful, and the water was cleaner than at other pools I’ve swum in. The atmosphere was great, and I saw staff cleaning and keeping the property in impeccable shape whenever I was outside. They were always ready to help with questions or anything else. I’ll definitely return when I’m in town and recommend it to friends.
