Motel 6 Nacogdoches, TX-SFA University

We've stayed here twice with our dog and had no complaints. The rooms look new and were clean, though we spotted a few bugs near the back entrance. The mattress was decent, and the front desk women were friendly and helpful. It's a good stay for the price and pet friendly. There was no coffee maker or blow dryer, which is understandable at this price. Our room was beside the back entrance, and that door slammed loudly whenever someone came or went. We put a towel under our door to soften the noise.

This motel is really run down and needs a lot of work. Most things don't work, or don't work properly, and the coffee is terrible. The place just needs fixing up.

The bedding made both my boyfriend and me itch, probably because of the strong detergent. I asked the front desk for clean sheets, but was told there weren't any and housekeeping had left for the day. Later, Angie was working and kindly gave me a fresh set. It was strange to be told none were available when she had some. We had booked two nights, but left after the first and moved to another hotel because the conditions were unacceptable. We felt uncomfortable, frustrated, and completely let down. The trouble started with our first room, which looked nice but had a bathroom door that was locked, so we had to move. The so-called upgraded room was worse: the toilet handle was broken, the sink drain had come completely loose, and chemical fumes from housekeeping left a sharp, tangy smell in the hallway and room that triggered my asthma. There was also a bug in the bathroom, which was very unsettling.

I spent three weeks here. Whenever I needed something, the staff helped me.
