Ocean Villas II

The short walk to the beach was the only good part of my stay. I’m hugely disappointed and could cry. This was the worst place I’ve stayed on the Outer Banks. It’s run-down and dirty. New flooring and a couch don’t cover the many problems, despite the claims about renovations. When I asked to check in, the office attendant was rude and flat-out said, “I’m not doing it right now,” even though we’d paid for early check-in. At our room, there was a long broken piece of gutter lying right in front of the stairs. The sliding glass doors were so dirty I could barely see out, so I cleaned them myself to try to enjoy the dune view. The baseboards were dusty, and the tub had mold, so I was afraid to use it. The whole place looked poor and smelled strongly of mildew, especially one of the bedrooms. The sliding door in the master bedroom wouldn’t open, and the living room door took a lot of strength. When it rained, I woke up with water dripping on me from two spots in the ceiling. It looked like the ceiling leaks often and they just paint over the damage instead of fixing it. The tub faucet broke on the first day, and the bathrooms are very outdated. The living room TV was only 20 inches. We didn’t come to watch TV, but come on, 20 inches? Flat screens aren’t that expensive anymore. It’s embarrassing. The owners should be ashamed to take people’s money without using it to improve the property. At the very least, they should clean properly and fix leaking ceilings.

On our first trip to the Outer Banks, we found this place awesome. The condo was spacious and wonderful, with a Jacuzzi that we only used twice. The internet worked great, and the service was awesome too. They really care about their guests and rooms and make you feel at home.

My family has been coming to Ocean Villas One for at least 10 years, sometimes two or three times a year. It’s cozy, right on the beach, and close to Janette’s Pier. We can walk to The Dunes restaurant and a local market, and each unit has everything we need, including Wi-Fi and entertainment systems. The pool is great for the kids. The clean rooms and warm atmosphere matter a lot to me. Management also did an excellent job handling COVID-19 and keeping residents safe. We love watching the sunset over Roanoke Sound from the overlook on the walkway to the beach.

The location is lovely, even if the place is a bit dated. The oceanfront units have great views, and we walked to several good restaurants, an outlet mall, and a nice little market. We slept well and woke up to beautiful sunrises. Enjoy!
