Tru By Hilton Naperville Chicago

I come here once a year and have always booked this hotel, but next year I'll stay somewhere else. The room was fine. Breakfast was a mess, with dirty tables and floors, empty items that weren't replenished, and the juice taken away 10 minutes before breakfast ended. They had the usual microwaved options. When I called to say my flight was late and I needed a late check-in, the front desk gave me attitude. If I've paid for the room in advance, why does the system cancel a late check-in?

Compared with the other Tru and Hilton brand hotels I've stayed at, this location has been below average. I've run into dirty bathrooms and a breakfast area that wasn't properly stocked, and the front desk service has been disappointing. It hasn't met the standard I expect from Hilton. I hope my work trips here are limited, since I'd rather not stay at this location again.

I missed breakfast, but came down for coffee about 45 minutes later and found spills, crumbs, and trash all over the floors and tables. The rooms have been dirty too: long black strands of hair on the beds, hair in the shower, and stains on the bed. I've stayed at several Tru locations in other states and never had this happen. Tru Hotel in Naperville seems poorly managed. The front desk person, Shar?, seemed annoyed when I raised the issues. Hospitality clearly doesn't seem to be a priority here.

Parking was free and easy, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had hair from previous guests, though, and the shower was only lukewarm in the evening, then cold in the morning. Breakfast was okay but really noisy. I won't be back.
