La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Naples East (I-75)

The bathrooms were awful, and for a reservation of four we were left with only two bath towels. Breakfast runs from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, but by 9:00 AM there was nothing left. The rooms need a remodel, too. The furniture was literally falling apart, and the TVs were old plasma models instead of LED screens. The air conditioners were so noisy that getting a decent night’s sleep was difficult. It feels like a third-world hotel in a first-world setting, which makes no sense.

I stayed four nights and regretted booking this place. The hallways, elevator, and rooms all seemed like they were never cleaned, and even after the room had supposedly been cleaned, it was still dirty. The beds were uncomfortable, with lumpy pillows, and the only toiletries were hand soap. What a waste of money. Maybe the hotel saw its positive cleanliness reviews and decided it could stop cleaning.

It’s Christmas Eve and my toilet still doesn’t work. I can’t shower or get ready for my evening plans, and now they have to send maintenance, which I’m sure will take a while. They said someone would come in 10 minutes, but an hour passed and nobody showed up. I had to go to the desk, and then neither of my two key cards worked when I tried to get back into the room. The old-looking room phone doesn’t work either, so I couldn’t call the front desk. The room smelled damp and moldy from the moment we entered. The floors and shared areas looked dirty, and the washers and dryers were filthy, with a crushed pill sitting in the washer’s creases. The rooms are outdated and smelly, and breakfast was disgusting. The sausage looked like it had been reheated several times. I’m on my second night here. If I’d read the reviews before booking, I would have gone somewhere else.

Roaches, mold, cigarette burns in the towels, and hair on the beds and in the shower. The room floors were dirty, and the hallways smelled of marijuana. When we complained, we were threatened with eviction. I’ve seen other reviews describing the manager making similar threats. Some employees didn’t speak English, and when we asked questions or for directions, they cursed in Spanish and acted sketchy. There are plenty of better hotels around, and this didn’t feel suitable for a family. There are scams going on here, too. The place needs new staff with customer service skills, especially in a developing area of Naples. Shame.
