La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Naples Downtown

Breakfast was the bright spot, with all the essentials for a hearty start to the day. The place is being fixed up, and it definitely needs the work. There are plenty of things missing or not working: the windows wouldn't open, the button for the second floor in the elevator is taped over, and planes fly very close by and can be heard early in the morning. Good luck sleeping in.

The room was clean, but it felt dated and wasn’t set up well for more than one person. The bathroom had a shower and toilet, while the pedestal sink sat outside with nowhere to leave toiletries. The beds were just okay, and the whole hotel had an unpleasant smell. There was peeling wallpaper in parts of the lobby and a broken elevator button held with tape. The location is good and the staff were nice, but the place really needs updating.

The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly. Housekeeping did a great job, too. The room looked a little dated and had a few minor cosmetic problems. Breakfast was basic, bland, and low quality, and the coffee was terrible. The listing said there was a hot tub, but it had been filled in. The walls were so thin we heard the neighbors’ dog barking and their TV all night. Luckily, the family we were visiting lent us a sound machine. Without it, we probably wouldn’t have slept much. Pretty typical for a three-star hotel.

The manager was really cool and worked hard wherever the staff needed help. My room was clean and had a microwave, small fridge, TV, AC, and comfortable beds. The coffee was very good, too. I was there off season and had plenty of space to park my large truck around back. There’s a bus stop for getting to the beach, or it’s about a 30-minute walk. You can also rent a bicycle next door. Olive Garden is right beside the hotel, and it’s a nice place to stay in Naples without spending too much.
