The service was outstanding, and the location is handy, about an eight-minute walk to Broadway and close to the Ryman. They’re renovating, so I won’t hold the dated furniture against them. These are cityscape collection rooms in a historic building, not vacation-style units, so expect a king bed, small fridge, and desk chair. All rooms have king beds. There aren’t vending machines or quick-service options, but corner shops and a Walgreens are nearby. Microwaves and ice machines are on separate floors, and the view is of city buildings.

For a week before New Year’s, the hallway was freezing, so we had to crank up the heat in the room. The shower had rusty metal shelves, and the finicky control went from lukewarm to scorching. You need a fob for the elevator because the other one was broken, and when two people are going to different floors, their fobs don’t always work for both. There’s no lobby to relax in. Hilton has taken it over so BG can push members into the Hilton program, and if you don’t join, the Hilton guy treats you like trash. They say they want happy owners, but it doesn’t feel that way. The place is overpriced, and they nickel and dime their members. They shut off the coffee machine before noon, and parking is valet only at almost $60 a night. The valets are slow, and they keep your keys next door at hotel indigo. Bwahahahaha.

The bed, sheets, and towels were clean and comfortable, the shower pressure was great, and the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion were all good quality. The front desk was very nice, and it was handy to text for the car or more towels. They checked in with us throughout the stay. The location is great for walking downtown, and we could leave the car with valet. The room itself needs some remodeling: the doorstop didn’t work, so I had to hold the door while bringing in our bags, the room stayed humid despite lowering the temperature, and the paint was chipped or looked like it had been patched over and over.

Mohammad and Haacar on the Valet Team went out of their way every day and did far more than I’d usually expect. We can’t say enough good things about those guys. Give them five stars, and I hope we see them next time!
