Courtyard by Marriott Nashville Green Hills

For a nearly new hotel, the room was in rough shape. The AC made awful noises that kept us from sleeping, and its filter looked like it hadn’t been changed for months. The dusty, dirty grates and improperly installed filter backed that up. The refrigerator didn’t work, the bathroom wall beside the toilet had fecal matter on it, and the soap dish had been torn off the wall and left unrepaired. The shower door stop was bent, missing its rubber stopper, and barely attached. It already feels like the place is falling apart, as if maintenance is being put off to maximize profits.

I’d happily stay here again. The value is exceptional, and it’s only a straight 10-15 minute drive to Vanderbilt and the Medical Center, even with traffic. This feels like a polished, upscale version of a Courtyard, almost more like an Autograph. It’s tucked behind Green Hills Mall, with plenty of places to eat. Parking wasn’t a big issue, with hourly street parking and some deck spaces. The property feels new, the rooms are spacious and very clean, with proper bathroom doors and shower curtains. The team made the stay feel warm and comfortable. I had a major reservation snafu, but the person who checked me in took great care of it. Later, Art at the front desk was very helpful with parking and local places. I ate breakfast at the lobby option both mornings, and Higi and Melissa were wonderful each time. They asked about choices and preferences and seemed to truly care that everyone got what they wanted.

The rooms were comfortable, quiet, and super clean, and the people working there were all so nice. Free breakfast was welcome, though it was exactly the same each day and had gotten boring by day three. The cook was especially nice. There’s a pleasant lounge, but it was colder than a meat locker and hard to spend much time in. The room itself was great, but there was barely any space for clothes. If my wife had been with me, we definitely wouldn’t have had enough. I’ll stay here again.

During the worst ice storm any Nashvillian can remember, these people were like angels in a hellish situation. The Marriott team showed real care by housing and comforting Nashvillians who were displaced or in danger, and they did it with kindness, grace, and class, around the clock. Art and Jeremy at the front desk and Bertha in housekeeping showed the best of humanity and made Marriott proud. They were compassionate and flexible about policies when people were in desperate circumstances. I’m proud that Marriott Courtyard, Green Hills, Nashville is part of my community. Thank you.
