Fairlane Hotel

I felt safe traveling alone, and the hotel was quiet. The bed was more comfortable than most hotel beds, and the coffee downstairs in the morning was a really good perk. The room was spotless and fresh smelling, with everything in good shape. Even the carpet felt squeaky clean in socks, and there was no grime or odd smell in the shower corners or grout. The room was well ventilated, too, so it never felt stale. The staff were the real standout. Everyone I interacted with was kind, polite, helpful, and knew their stuff. That kind of consistency is rare. Such an amazing stay, everything felt perfect.

The room was wonderfully quiet, and we appreciated having no outside noise or music. There was also plenty to enjoy around the hotel, including lounge seating, a billiards table, and free water. The plants and thoughtful decor gave the place a cozy, dim feel, and the staff were friendly. A nice coffee shop is right next door. Our only snag came at check-in. We arrived before noon while the system was down, so we understood we couldn't get into the room yet. We left our bags and were told we'd get a text when it was ready, but no text or email came. When we returned at 4 PM, the room had been ready already. We were tired from traveling and walking, and with a 5 PM dinner reservation we had to rush. A message as promised would have helped. Still, it was a very enjoyable weekend getaway in Nashville.

The restaurant being open was a huge help while so many businesses were closed during the ice storm. The Fairlane staff made sure we could relax in a difficult situation, from booking through the whole stay. They offered a special rate for people without power and let both our dogs stay, even though they were a little over the weight limit. They were incredibly accommodating. The hospitality was unmatched.

I’d stay here again. For breakfast, check out Sun Cafe. The hotel also has a full bar and food, though I didn’t have time to try either. It’s a modern-looking place, close to Broadway and the music venues. My room had lovely decor, a large bathroom, and a tub. The automatic blinds were handy once housekeeping showed me to tug them to open or close, but there were no instructions. A note and a wall remote would make them easier to use.
