The ladies in the gift shop were the best, so sweet, and the bartender was very polite and comped my New York strip. But the steak tasted ruined or freezer burned, and I ended up ordering DoorDash because it was too late to go out. The so-called breakfast was a joke, too. There was dust all over the ceiling, and it looked like it hadn’t seen a vacuum. This hotel needs serious renovations and the cleaning staff need retraining. I could go on with the problems. Don’t waste your time, there’s probably a better-kept Super 8 somewhere.

During Nashville’s January ice storm, we waited five hours in the lobby for our room, from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Other guests who arrived later got their keys first. Each time someone asked, the man at the desk gave the same speech instead of checking what was happening. My partner finally had to insist on an explanation before we were given a room. I understand the hotel was probably busier than ever and staff were overwhelmed, and I know they were doing their best, but they seemed unable to answer some questions. I’m from Nashville and knew this hotel had a good reputation, though it was outdated inside. I didn’t expect the condition we found. The shower started with standing water, then black scum came out and floated around, so we had to bathe in the sink. The room looked only partly cleaned, with crumbs and gunk behind the bed. The carpet throughout smelled and looked filthy. Another guest called the hotel gross and checked out early; we did the same, a day ahead of schedule, because my dog and I were uncomfortable. We also lost $40 on pizza from a place advertised at the front counter. It was marked delivered, but never arrived. Breakfast was another mess: waffle batter smeared over the counter, and the cheesy rice or hash browns, I couldn’t tell which, had been torn into. Nobody came to look after the area, which looked like kids had played in the food. We were willing to risk the ice storm to leave. There was so much dog poop and pee outside by the end of the night that we risked stepping in it whenever we took our dog out. If the hotel allows animals, it needs an outdoor receptacle for waste. And the sax player was rude and inappropriate when he came over to guests asking, “can I give you some unsolicited advice!” I immediately said no. This place needs new staff, renovations, and better amenities.

The complete power outage on January 25th left my family and many others needing shelter, and Rebecca and Jennifer at the front desk got us into rooms despite the extremely long lines. They were patient, knowledgeable, and polite, turning a stressful, unexpected situation into a pleasant one. Sara, the night manager, also deserves a mention for her helpfulness and wonderful smile. Thank you all!

We’ve stayed at the Millennium twice while visiting Nashville. The rooms are a bit small and the hotel feels somewhat outdated, but it’s very clean and comfortable, and you can’t beat the price. It’s pet-friendly, with plenty of grass for walks. The bus to and from Broadway is great. Just tip the driver and you get convenient drop-off and pickup that save time and money. We can’t wait to come back!

We stay here on every trip to Nashville, and the place has definitely become run down. I wouldn’t call it a four-star hotel. The bathrooms need maintenance and updating, and the rooms could use a refresh too. Still, the price matches the quality. You won’t find much nearby for this cheap, so it’s decent for the money.
