Super 8 Chadron Ne

My stay was 9/11/25. I can barely find anything good to say, and I learned to always read reviews before booking. The pictures posted for the Chadron Super 8 don't look anything like the actual place. I suspect they were copied from another Super 8. This facility really needs to close. It's filthy. I arrived late at night, and after looking around I hesitated to go in. The neighborhood, parking lot, and building were all run down. At check-in, I was told renovations were underway. The small lobby looked like it might have been painted recently, though the carpet looked dirty, but I decided to see the room. The hallway carpet was filthy, with wet, squishy spots. I told the desk clerk, who just shrugged and said he knew, but couldn't get anyone to fix it. The room was the saving grace: it had been painted, the carpet looked clean, and the bathroom seemed relatively clean. I checked the bed for bed bugs and didn't find any. If the other hotels I'd called hadn't been full, I would've walked out and gladly forfeited the one-night fee just to get away. There were no other rooms in town that late. I sincerely recommend avoiding this place.

The room was clean and comfortable for a low price, and the woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The mattresses, bedding, carpets, and lobby all seemed new. Some parts, like the hallways and bathroom, are older, but they were clean and worked fine. The Wi-Fi in my room was a bit spotty. After seeing earlier reviews, I was concerned, though my stay made me think many of those problems may have been from the previous management or a different time at the hotel.

I drove 14 hours from Chicago with my son, who I was taking to college, and arrived to find that the clerk had my Travelocity reservation but wouldn't check us in because the internet was down. She pointed to a sign and told me to contact Travelocity for a refund. We desperately needed a room, and I couldn't believe she wouldn't try to help beyond that. Three other hotels had no vacancies. We finally found a room at the fourth, and my son and I had been close to sleeping in the car. I had already paid Travelocity and Super 8 for a room, so being turned away was extremely frustrating. They had my reservation; they could have handed over a key and sorted out the internet in the morning. This was my first one-star review, and after this I won't book with Super 8 again.

We asked for a refund, which we've never done at a motel before, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. The room with the jetted tub had a tub and light that didn't work, and we spotted a few bugs crawling on the floor. The ice machine was out, and neither the Wi-Fi nor the TV was working. We've usually had good stays at Super 8, but this place doesn't seem well managed. Problems other reviewers mentioned are still there, even though we've stayed in a lot of places.
