Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Natchez South by IHG

The front desk clerk was friendly, but the room was disgusting. There had been no cleaning before I came in: hair was scattered across the shower, floor, and sink, and there was dried food and drink on the nightstand. It looked as if cleaner had been sprayed on the counters and nightstand without anyone wiping them down. This was the dirtiest room I’ve ever had at an IHG property. I’ve stayed here several times before, but I won’t return. Housekeeping clearly has no oversight, since nobody seems to check the staff’s work. Other than the clerk, this hotel is trash now.

The breakfast was laughable: watery powdered eggs, expired bagels, and sausage still frozen in the middle. The next room we were moved to smelled awful and the odor never went away. Our first room hadn’t been cleaned at all, with dirty towels on the floor and the beds left treated. The shower pressure was too weak for a decent wash, bathroom tiles were loose, and the furniture looked dirty and dingy. The service, rooms, and breakfast were all horrible. The place is quite dated, and some remodeling would make a killing. People eat with their eyes first. Next time we’ll take our business to Hampton Inn next door.

The mattress was awful, with springs nearly coming out, and the bedding was wrinkled and dirty. The towels were dingy too. There was a ring of dirt around the tub and mold and mildew in the shower. It’s sad to see a hotel in this condition. They need to fire the cleaning staff and start over.

The breakfast was great, with plenty of choices, and staff brought out fresh hot food whenever it was needed. We arrived early, and the staff got our room ready quickly so we could check in ahead of time. The room was clean and smelled nice, and both the pool and its bathroom were clean too. Everyone was kind.
