Jefferson House

We picked the Jefferson House because we wanted to be downtown, close to the river, rather than out by the interstate with the other wedding guests. It worked out so well that we'll stay there again. Greg and Lisa were warm, knowledgeable hosts who gave us good ideas about where to go, eat, and look around. Greg also told us about the fall tour of homes, which he guides and clearly knows well. Traveling with a pet made finding a place tricky. As far as we could tell, JH was the only B&B that allowed pets, and the pet-friendly hotels we found had low ratings. Book early if you're bringing one. The fee was reasonable and charged once, not per day. We enjoyed an afternoon drink by the river after walking the dog just out back. And both breakfasts were outstanding. Greg and Lisa are great in the kitchen.

The Cane River view makes a lovely setting, and Greg and Lisa were wonderful hosts. Greg's gourmet breakfast was excellent, and we enjoyed hearing the historic stories about Natchitoches. A great B&B for a weekend away.

We slept better at The Jefferson House than at the other B&Bs we've tried in town. It's a beautiful, spotless place, with a lovely garden and a backyard right on the river. Lisa and Greg welcomed us with so much care, and we enjoyed meeting their adorable dog, "booboo" 😍. We especially appreciated that they accept small breeds. My husband and I will definitely come back. Thank you, Mr. & Mrs.!

I felt at home here, and the big king bed was so comfortable I slept like a baby. Ms. Lisa's Swedish Pancakes with homemade fig and peach perserves were amazing. Greg and Lisa have thought of all the little hospitality touches. The Jefferson House is a real treat, don't miss it!
