Stardust Inn

I was told on arrival that I owed another $117 for a deposit and room cleaning for “smoking.” I had already paid online, including the non-refundable $19.99 deposit. The confirmation email said there would be another $10 deposit at arrival, which was fine. How did that become $117? When I told Katie I wouldn't pay another deposit, she ignored me, wouldn't give me any more information, and refused to refund me. They said I should have read the policy. Now I'm out $160 for one night. Can anyone help get that money back into my bank account?

The check-in was awful, and the lady was rude. They wanted a $100 security deposit plus an $18 non-refundable cleaning fee, but the rooms were gross and hadn't been cleaned. So what was the cleaning fee even for? Don't book here unless you're okay with bedbugs, a sticky remote, no smoke or carbon monoxide detectors, and useless AC. There's no ventilation either, and it felt like I was breathing in mold painted over. I was in the room less than 15 minutes before booking somewhere else. I wasn't about to stay and risk getting bitten in my sleep.

The rooms were dirty and outdated, with cigarette burns on the bedding, and the bed was uncomfortable. Staff were rude. They held my deposit for a week after my stay and charged it twice. When I called about it, a male staff member blamed my credit union for his mistake and kept hanging up on me when I called back. Never going back.

We needed somewhere to stay for three nights over a weekend while our house was being fumigated, and a friend recommended Stardust Inn. The room made a bad first impression: it was dirty, with hairs left on the floor from the last occupant and a dirty fridge. On the first night, bedbugs left us covered in bites. They said the sheets were new and seemed reluctant to replace them. We tried talking to the manager but got nowhere. I paid over $300 for three nights, then was told there was another $30 cleaning fee. Isn't cleaning part of the charge? I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Don't support it, and please spread the word.
