Rodeway Inn

The fire pit and grill in the outdoor seating area made it easy to relax, and the decor in the room added a fun, colorful touch. My room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, with a cozy bed. The inn sits right by the water, so the setting is peaceful and scenic. It’s also easy to reach, with restaurants and shops a short drive away. The staff were friendly and happy to help. Orbits Inn was affordable, clean, and welcoming, and I’d stay again if I needed a budget-friendly place in Somerset.

We arrived at 10:30 PM, but they refused to check us in, so we had to find another place to stay. By the water feature out front, the check-in manager was smoking a water pipe with a woman. Young children under eight were waiting outside rooms with little adult supervision, and an unkempt woman was sitting outside one of the rooms. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone except the police.

For a quick, affordable night or two, this place works. I wouldn’t choose it for a stay of several weeks since the rooms are dated and not very clean. The free WiFi also keeps disconnecting for hours at a time. The staff, though, are genuinely kind and helpful, and there are assorted items for sale at the front desk at reasonable prices. There’s new ownership, so maybe the room condition and WiFi will improve. I’d have given it five stars if it were cleaner and had better WiFi.

The landscaping was nice, and the room itself was clean. I’m from the area, so I knew the hotel was old, but some of the exterior railings were rusty and there were holes rusted through the steps. The bed pillows were uncomfortable and gave no support. During my whole four-day stay, the trash can by the stairway was overflowing, and housekeeping never came to take the trash out of my room.
