Red Roof Inn Somerset, KY

I ended up going to the office in the morning for cleaning supplies so I could clean the tub myself. The room was nice, and I’d come back because I like the prices and it’s conveniently close to our home, so we can be near our kids while getting a night away with my husband. But the room smelled like urine, and the jets in the extra-cost jacuzzi room 229 shot out clogged hair when I turned them on. There was no cold water either. Housekeeping needs to do a better job, and I’d tell management to hire people who will properly clean and sanitize the rooms and furniture.

We needed somewhere to stop unexpectedly while traveling through, and booking was super easy. A king room was an amazing price at $60. The front desk was very nice, brought us an extra chair, and gave us the TV channel numbers. The bed was comfortable, and I liked having a desk to work at. I’d stop here again if I’m in the area. Stay with confidence.

The room itself was fine, but the bed felt like concrete. The bigger issue was the door: it looked like it had been kicked in and wouldn’t shut properly, so I put the ironing board in front of it to make sure it stayed closed. When I told the front desk, they said a few rooms were missing a strike plate and mine might be one of them. Why rent rooms that need repairs? This was my last stay at a Red Roof Inn.

Weekday rates were a little high, but I got a discount and free Wi-Fi, and the clean bed and quiet atmosphere made my weekday stay much better. I’m from Tennessee and was visiting relatives, and the hotel really improved the trip. The weekend rates were a little high too. I’ll definitely use it again.
