Naugatuck Motor Lodge

The staff are really nice, and housekeeping works hard to keep a very shabby property as clean and tidy as they can. Yay to them. We’ve stayed at Naugatuck Motor Lodge many times because it’s cheap and conveniently located, one of the least expensive rooms around here. Still, you get what you pay for. The walls need fresh paint, and the furniture and lamps may or may not be damaged. Every bedspread I’ve seen there has had burn holes in it. Why? Just why?

I only found out this motel existed about a month ago, and it’s actually pretty nice. The rooms are big and quite clean, and you could fit four people easily if you brought an extra queen air mattress. I like that they still offer both smoking and non-smoking rooms. The location is prime, near lots of businesses and right by Route 8.

It’s cheap, but the owners got so involved that they caused problems. After we paid and got comfortable, they gave my friend a hard time over his service dog and kicked us out. We’re traveling through the state with our 8-month-old baby. I let the baby crawl on the floor on a blanket, then saw a piece of wire brush in his hand. I’m an adult, by the way, not stupid. Those people are sleaze balls.

The staff were extremely rude and borderline creepy, staring at you when you’re outside or when your window is open. The place shows no pride at all. I get that it’s the cheapest around, but the cleaning is an absolute half-assed job. Don’t look under the bed, because it’s obvious they don’t move furniture to vacuum. The carpet is dirty, the linens are full of burn holes, the TV picture is fuzzy, and some channels barely come in. There are dead bugs and cobwebs on the shelves, plus black mold in the shower. Definitely, you get what you pay for.
