The view of the river from the Willard Richards Inn is breathtaking. I loved my stay there, and the owner was warm and knew a lot about the area. Nauvoo has plenty of historic inns and homes, but this one really stands out. It's also conveniently just blocks from Mulholland Street, the Nauvoo Temple, and Old Nauvoo. I had a wonderful visit and will be back.

We spent three nights here during a hot week in September and were very comfortable in the air conditioning. The Willard Richards Inn was clean, quiet, and exactly the high quality B&B we expected. Breakfast was delicious, and housekeeping came as promised. We enjoyed our time in and around Nauvoo, and this ended up being one of the most satisfying stays in all our travels around the world. The friendly, hardworking hosts added a lot to the experience, and they can share an excellent history of the home.

This historic house has been carefully kept and renovated with respect for its past. There are antiques from the historic Nauvoo period throughout, and the building's history is interesting. Rooms vary, and the ones on the middle floor looked more spacious. If you're deciding which bedroom to book, check the inn's website and call with questions. The hosts were delightful, answered questions promptly, and served great breakfasts. It's easy to walk to the Nauvoo sites from here, and I highly recommend staying at this convenient B&B.

We had never visited Nauvoo before, and I'm so glad we stayed at the Willard Richard's Inn. We had first considered hotels on the Iowa side of the river, but from this inn we could step outside and start wandering the streets of old Nauvoo. Being there helped me understand why the place mattered so much. I grew up on the west coast hearing stories about the early church, and being immersed in this little corner of the Mississippi made the history feel real. The innkeepers were incredibly kind and took time to explain the building, the people who lived there, and early Nauvoo. Their food was so memorable that the kids still talk about it months later. The property and its carefully chosen decor were lovely, and we felt at home sharing the common living room with other guests on conference weekend. It was worth every penny, and if you want to introduce your family to this area, I can't think of a better way. We're already planning to return, and we won't stay anywhere else.

I've stayed in this early 1800s home several times, and it's in spectacular condition, beautiful, and right in old town Nauvoo. You can walk to all the attractions. The hostess, Laura, knows a lot about the house and the town's history. The home honors its history: Willard Richards was a friend of Joseph Smith and one of the four brethren falsely imprisoned at Carthage Jail when Joseph and Hyrum were martyred. It's been an exceptional experience every time, and I'll return whenever I visit Nauvoo. Thank you!
