The owner and host was around regularly to make sure our stay went smoothly, and the staff were kind and accommodating. P.A.Smith hotel is a real off-the-beaten-path find. The rooms feel quiet and luxurious even with the train running across the street, and we actually enjoyed watching and hearing it. The speakeasy and restaurants on the same block are worth checking out. It’s about an hour from HOUSTON, almost two hours from Waco, 45 minutes from Conroe Lake, and 20-25 minutes from College Station, home of the Aggies. Hearn and new Baden are nearby too, along with plenty to see. There are only a few rooms, so book early.

The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay, and they’re clean and elegant. There’s also a big shared area, dining space, and conference room, so it works for business or a personal trip. The attached coffee shop has pastries, and the speakeasy is a really cool extra. It’s a beautiful hotel, and everyone working there was friendly. This was my first visit, but I’ll be back.

The employees were so kind, and we loved the location for dining and entertainment. P.A. Smith hotel was absolutely beautiful, especially those gorgeous chandeliers. We really enjoyed our visit and stay.

Hamer’s Speakeasy kept the celebration going, and the young ones made lasting memories together there. From booking our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner through the evening itself, the staff were accommodating and helped bring all our ideas to life. It’s a truly beautiful venue.
