Nellis Suites at Main Gate

The pool has been out of service for over a year, and the gym is closed because of air-conditioning problems. It’s also loud from the Air Force, though I kind of like the reminder of America’s military strength. Watch yourself at Craig and Las Vegas Blvd, it’s a really dangerous intersection. There’s a nearby market with a food bank, and plenty of Amazon warehouses around for work. I’ve lived here for a year and a half, and once you get to know people, the neighbors are great. Maintenance is friendly and handles issues right away, the bug person comes every couple of months, and I haven’t had bugs. Crime is nearly nonexistent. It’s a good place to live if money’s tight, and a nice little part of northeast Las Vegas where you can make a decent living.

The neighborhood felt a little iffy, but I met a lot of nice people and had good neighbors. One even brought me water when I ran out, after I’d posted about drinking a whole bottle of wine. My kids made tons of friends too. We stayed for a month in a one-bedroom at Nellis Suites. It was better than a hotel room, with a kitchen, fridge, couch, bed, dresser, table, and chairs.

Cockroaches everywhere, and drug dealers too. They really don’t seem to care. I had to call Metro more than once. Do yourself a favor and stay away. I’d give it negative stars if I could.

The pools have been locked since day one, and the place feels overcrowded. Kids are loud at night, yelling and throwing things, so if you can’t stand teenagers, don’t come here. They gather by the stairwell and people’s doors, leave trash, and use really vulgar language. Management has time to put notices on doors, but doesn’t deal with kids stealing gas and parts from people’s vehicles or the noise.
