National 9 - Nephi 9 Inn

Nice to find a quality hotel at a reasonable price when everything seems overpriced. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the owner was polite and respectful. It's a great value. I'd give the location four stars instead of five because the signs could use some work.

I've stayed here a handful of times because it's cheaper than nearby competitors, and it had always been clean. On my latest visit, the lack of upkeep was hard to miss. The door stuck in the jamb and was difficult to open or close. The carpet was dirty, full of holes, and pulling away from the walls. Cleaning was poor too, with chunks of something left on the floor. Temporary repairs in the shower were peeling, and the hot water stopped about a minute into my shower.

I was nervous about staying at a motel, but Nephi 9 Inn helped put me at ease. We stayed overnight on the way north and had a relaxing visit. The staff were friendly, attentive, and quick. Our room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. My only room complaints were low water pressure and sinks that drained slowly. Breakfast had a good variety of food and drinks. The motel is right off the freeway, with several places to eat nearby. The pool was closed while I was there. Thank you!

The room smelled like cat urine and cigarettes, and when I went to get into bed I saw bugs. We found more bugs in the other bed and a toenail when the boy from the office came to look. He said the room must not have been cleaned. They had no other rooms, so we asked for our money back, but he refused and told us to come back in the morning to speak with Nancy, the manager. We got three quarters of our refund. Nancy was nice and understood why we were upset, and said she'd have a long talk with housekeeping. We'd chosen the place for the hot tub and summer pool, but when we asked at the office where they were, we were told they were under construction. That should have been posted on the website.
