Crystal Inn Neptune

Maddie at reception was incredibly kind and helpful. She’s worked there for 14 years, knows the area well, and was quick to respond to what we needed. We planned an impromptu trip to Asbury Beach and chose this place because it’s a short drive to the boardwalk. The room was clean, as was the pool. It’s affordable, and I’d recommend it.

I was a bit wary after reading the Google reviews, but Priceline’s rating was pretty good and seemed to match the facilities more accurately. The hotel is clearly older, but it has what you need for a decent budget stay. Our room was clean, housekeeping brought fresh towels each day, and the front desk was polite and quick to help when we had trouble with the room keys.

The beds were really comfortable, and the price and location were just right for our night out at Cyprus Hill at the Stone Pony Summer Stage. The pool looked great, though we didn’t get to use it. It was quiet even after the concert, despite other concertgoers staying there. The furniture was pretty beat up, and the whole place smelled of smoke. You could tell people were smoking in the rooms. That’s not the hotel’s fault, people should do better and use the outdoor space every room has. And to anyone claiming there are bedbugs, I checked the clean mattresses and didn’t find any. Great stay overall, and I’d come back.

A big plus was having washers and dryers on site. It was also quiet, clean, and in a wonderful location. We stayed for three weeks, and housekeeping was polite. Still, one day we got a call accusing us of wrapping a light outside on the balcony with a black plastic bag. We didn’t do it, and while I understand wanting to protect the property, the accusation came out of nowhere and was delivered rudely. I was also accused of feeding cats outside. There are probably more serious issues to deal with than accusing respectable guests of things they haven’t done. The marijuana smell was overpowering at times, and perhaps that’s the real issue. One more tip: booking online, such as through booking.com, was roughly $30-$40 cheaper.
