Americas Best Value Inn New Braunfels San Antonio

The pool and hot tub were filthy, with cloudy water and what looked like a wipe floating in the tub. Our room also had an odor and wasn't very clean. We should have left right away. Instead, we came away with bed bugs. When I called to report it, I was told the manager was on vacation and they couldn't give me a refund. Don't stay here.

We didn't make it past our first night. After getting bitten and spotting more than 10 roaches, we had to find somewhere else to stay during the holidays. The woman had been friendly when we arrived, but when we came back to ask how to cancel, we waited about 15 minutes. She wasn't apologetic or even surprised when I described the infestation. She just told me to contact the booking site, then went back to her room in pajamas. The low price isn't worth it. If you can put up with bed bug bites and tiny and large roaches all over the room, that's your choice. If you have even a slight concern for your health, don't stay here.

There's plenty nearby, including Home Depot and more than 200 outlets, and it's easy to get around from here. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and had a refrigerator and coffee maker. Breakfast was free, and there's a pool plus a washer and dryer if you need them. We'd be happy to return.

Room 108 was unbearably loud from 10pm until after 4am. The man and woman next to us kept shouting and showed no respect for anyone nearby. I also hadn't realized I'd booked a smoking room, and changing to nonsmoking would have cost extra. I'll never stay at this location again.
