Retro Inn at Mesa Verde

The owners have clearly put a lot of care into this place. The colors, lights, and black-and-white floor tiles were so cute. There's also a little fenced dog park. The shower didn't drain properly, which was my only issue. Otherwise, it was great and I'll definitely come back.

The grounds are beautiful, and breakfast is included, so this place gets five stars plus from me. We stayed three nights while visiting the local parks. The buildings and rooms were immaculate, and every bit of decor looked organized and cared for. The WiFi was the best we had during our two-week road trip. I especially liked the game room and the laundry facilities. I watched TV in the guest house while doing laundry, and the sofa was so comfortable I didn't want to head back to our room. Kudos to the owners and staff. I'd stay again if I'm in the area.

We had a fun stay in the Woodstock Suite, which was clean and had just the right retro feel. Sleeping on a waterbed again after so many years was a blast from the past, and the staff were easy to communicate with and totally cool. The room only had floor cushions and folding chairs stored in the closet, though, so there wasn't a regular chair with much support. That could be tough for anyone with mobility issues. The property seemed mostly wheelchair-friendly, but the pillows by the entrance made the first step inside awkward for someone using a wheelchair or other assistance. The front desk shuts at midnight; they'll arrange a lockbox for late arrivals if you let them know ahead of time. We'd book again.

A fun stop on a road trip, and the vintage kitchen is worth seeing on its own. It's absolutely gorgeous, and the staff clearly appreciate it too. I enjoyed geeking out about it with them in the morning. The woman working nights was quirky and super cute.
