Cation on the Guadalupe

We spent the whole day by the river and had it pretty much to ourselves, then ate lunch at the tables under the pecan trees. Madison and her husband also hosted a 5PM wine event by the river, and it was lovely talking with them and hearing about the property’s history. The room looked just like the online photos and smelled brand new. We appreciated the decor, well-stocked kitchen, local coffee, hooks for towels in each room, and the nice-smelling soaps, lotions, and shampoos. Madison, who runs Cation, answered my emailed questions quickly, even called to suggest a room, and made check-in and checkout simple. We booked at the last minute for a weekend away to recharge, and it was just what we needed.

We started the day with coffee on the balcony, watching deer feed and move through the field between us and the river. It was too cold to get in the water, but we took a peaceful stroll down to it and snapped a photo. The unit was inviting, clean, and beautifully decorated, with spacious, comfortable rooms and everything we needed. My wife and I stayed at Cation for a week with another couple, and we slept great. Madison was a joy to meet, very attentive, and gave us great suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. We’re sure to come back. Madison, the concierge, was quick and clear whenever we reached out by text or phone, and helped with everything we needed. The apartment was roomy, beautifully decorated, and had all the cooking utensils and supplies we needed, along with great toiletries. It felt much better than booking a hotel room. The location made it easy to get around, close to downtown, the tubing river, and the highway. We really enjoyed our stay and will tell friends about it. For a New Braunfels visit, I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

We had nine people in our group, and everyone plans to come back soon. The room was clean and beautiful, just as shown on the website. The beds and furniture were comfortable, and the decor was excellent. Madison went out of her way to make our stay special during Wurstfest, including arranging free shuttle rides to and from the festival and leaving the cutest cookies for us when we arrived.
