La Quinta Inn & Suites New Britain/Farmington

For a two-star hotel, the experience felt like five stars to me. The rooms are clean and well cared for, and the hygiene is excellent. The location is very convenient for getting around, with restaurants close by. The staff stood out most: they’re friendly, professional, polite, and ready to help. They’ve recently started converting half the rooms to include kitchens, which is handy for people who like to cook or stay longer. I was very satisfied and will definitely return.

Devon is such a great person, and his customer service made me very happy. He’s polite, friendly, helpful, respectful, and gets things right. Easily the best employee here. We need more people like him. Keep up the great work!

I had a number of problems during my stay this past week. Whenever I went down for towels, employees said they were out, though some people seemed to get more than they needed. The night auditor smoked regularly at work, as if she were at home. I also saw a larger employee drinking a clear liquid from a plastic cup. Her eyes looked low and she was slurring her words, so I thought she was drinking. The male employee leaves the coffee out past 11 because he feels bad for people in the morning. Why not keep it out all day? And there’s a new blonde employee, also on the bigger side, who seems uptight and acts like she’s too good for the place. Whenever I asked her something, she gave me a look. They need to find better employees.

The room was nice and clean, and the desk clerks were very pleasant. The property looked nice, but there were lots of people hanging around who weren’t staying there, which felt a bit sketchy. The entrance area and grounds could use a good rinse. Some rooms have dogs, so there was barking and poop around. Only one elevator worked, and the ride was rough enough that it needs servicing. It’s a little expensive considering coffee is only available for a few hours in the morning.
