Scottish Inns Harrisburg - Hershey South

I spent maybe 10 hours in the room over the two days I’d booked. Once the bugs came out, I had to leave. I asked for a full refund and was denied, though they did refund the two days I didn’t stay. I have plenty of pictures and will be posting them with reviews on all the booking sites. There were cockroaches, spit on the mirrors and walls, and dirt both inside and outside the room. The walls and doors looked like they’d never been wiped. The bathroom door had no strike plate, so it wouldn’t latch or stay closed. The fire detector was wired into an uncovered electrical box with exposed wires.

It’s close to harrisburg, but this place is disgusting and infested with mice and roaches. I complained about both for months and nothing was done. The curtain rod was already broken when I moved in, and they never fixed it after I reported it. The TV went out through no fault of anyone, but it took a week to get a replacement. They gave me one with what looked like burn-in streaks and said it was brand new. It wasn’t, and one HDMI port was broken too. Don’t stay here.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The rooms smelled strongly, the walls and windows were damaged, and we found what looked like bedbugs under all four beds across the two rooms we booked. Staff said they’d never received a bedbug complaint. Editing to add: staff later said they weren’t bedbugs, but roaches. They looked like bedbugs to me 😬

The place reeked of smoke even though there were "no smoking" signs everywhere. Our room was dirty when we got there, and there were still things left behind by the previous occupants. They even left an envelope asking for housekeeping tips. The walls were damaged and dirty, the ice maker was broken, and the beds weren’t comfortable. Check-in dragged on because nobody was at the desk when we arrived in the late afternoon. It took a long time for someone to show up. I’d never stay here again.
