The Logan Inn is a beautiful, charming property with lovely furnishings in the room, and the location was very convenient. My husband and I spent a night there for his birthday, but three things bothered us. The wood carvings on the walls were pretty, but covered in a thick layer of dust. The king room’s skylight looked beautiful, yet in the morning it shone straight into our eyes. There should be a way to cover it when you’re trying to sleep. Parking was the other issue. At more than $400 a night, valet was the only option and cost $15, which is somewhat normal. But then we got a text saying every hour past 11 a.m. would cost another $7. That’s nuts. For that price, they could at least give you 24 hours in the lot.

The manager stepped in and helped sort out the room change, which we appreciated. We stayed two nights at the Logan Inn, and it was decent, but the price set expectations it didn’t quite meet. We’d told the booking system we were bringing two small children, then selected the room it recommended, only to find it had no bathtub. Changing rooms was frustrating too: the front desk first quoted me one price, then quoted my husband a significantly higher price for the same change. There were luggage carts, but no one offered to help, and the rooms were a long way off. Handling the bags and kids ourselves over that distance was frustrating and didn’t fit the hotel’s positioning. The suite we moved to was nice overall, though it had a loose bathroom handle and a few other small maintenance details needing attention. A few improvements could make the stay much better.

We didn’t sleep well on the second night because it sounded like around 20 people were in the room above us. People shouted in the hall and argued over whose room they’d stay in. Maybe we caught a bad weekend, but I’m not sure I’d return. My fiancé and I stayed over Memorial Day weekend. The renovated lobby and restaurant area had a swanky, classy feel, but our room’s decor was completely different. The lobby design itself seemed odd: from the valet you walk downstairs to it, then have to cross to the other side of the inn to check in. We were in room 202. There was a nude photo book beside a small rocking horse, which felt bizarre and made us wonder whether the inn was meant to be family friendly. There were also photos of strangers posing in swimsuits. I’d never seen that in a hotel room, and it clashed with the polished first-floor look.

The drinks were cute, though they could’ve used some garnish, and the charcuterie board was a great addition to a liquid lunch. The manager was lovely and stopped to chat with us about the board. We found a seat right away even though the Miracle Bar was busy. It’s festive and different from other versions we’ve visited, though not as over the top. Our bartender seemed miserable, couldn’t manage a smile, and barely spoke. The couple beside us said they were having the same experience, and she seemed to treat everyone that way. We’d return, but hope for friendlier service next time.

The location of our room made our Thanksgiving stay miserable. We were there for two nights, directly above the event room during a large wedding, with loud music and guests. The windows faced the parking lot, where garbage trucks came repeatedly to empty the large bins, and turkey buzzards picked through what was left. They also poop on cars parked under the overhead lights, so ask the valet to leave your car elsewhere. We had that problem too. The bathroom had no useful mirror, just one small stand mirror in the bedroom. The smaller, nicer bar was closed for a pre-wedding cocktail party, which felt unacceptable when hotel guests are paying hundreds a night. Nobody warned us about the wedding or trucks. If we’d known, we would’ve asked for another room. This was our third stay at the Logan Inn, and our last. It could have been so much better.
