Home2 Suites By Hilton Boone

We took a few nights away while my wife was on spring break, and since neither of us had been to Boone, I suggested checking it out. We found this fairly new Home2 Suites on east King Street, at the edge of downtown and near the heart of the city. It's easy to reach from the main road, with lots of parking. Parking is free, but you need to display the permit they provide. The bright lobby has lots of natural light and is nicely decorated. Our room was a good size, with a mini kitchen, a small refrigerator with freezer, full-size microwave, dishwasher, glasses, plates, silverware, and a separate kitchen sink. There was also a sofa and desk/dresser area. The bed was a little too firm for me. Breakfast in the lobby had a good mix of hot and cold foods, juice, bread, waffles, and yogurt. Check-in was easy, and the Hilton app lets you check in, pick a room, and use your phone as a key. The property was well maintained, and the staff we met were friendly and helpful. I was happy with the location and facilities, aside from the bed.

Everything met Home2 Suites' standards, and the hotel was clean with no unpleasant surprises. The front desk is staffed around the clock, and the team was attentive and quick to respond to what guests needed. The shower products were good quality, and it was appreciated that towels could be changed daily when needed. Comfortable, efficient service. I'd recommend it.

The only real drawback was getting in from the road, since entry required a U-turn. Aside from that, it was close to perfect. We've stayed at plenty of Hilton and Marriott properties, plus a few other brands, and this Home2 ranks in our top five. The staff were lovely and helpful, the whole place was very clean and thoughtfully designed, and the room and bed were comfortable. The shower was good, and the in-room kitchen had more amenities than we've ever seen. Breakfast was the best part: so many choices, all fresh and tasty, that we never considered eating elsewhere. We'll return to the Boone, NC Home2 and look for Home2 hotels in other cities on future trips. Well done, Hilton!

The suites and bathroom were nice, everything was clean, and the service was great. There's a gym, and weekday breakfast runs from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. It was well stocked, with a build-your-own sandwich station featuring egg patties, sausage, bacon, cheese, bagels, bread, and croissants. They also had grits, yogurt, fruit, waffles, little hash browns, premade egg souffles, and a hot savory Danish. I'd stay here again if I needed a place in the area.
