Quality Inn Shenandoah Valley

The only good thing was how close it was to the interstate. The hotel felt dirty throughout. Carpet was wet, possibly from the air conditioner, though I can't be sure. There were lots of scuffs, stains, and nicks on the walls and ceiling. The TV stand had a suspicious collection of what looked like sexual bodily fluid. The inner sheets seemed clean, but the coverlet was stained. There was sticky residue left in the shower base and mold around it. I wasn't expecting the Ritz Carlton, just a clean room where I didn't have to worry about what I might be exposed to.

I can't speak for every room, but 102 worked well for me. It was clean and quiet, the temperature was just right, and the shower was warm. I had no complaints, and I'm usually very sharp-eyed when I stay in hotels.

After hearing so much about rising prices, I wanted to write about what a good value this was. It was my first stay at Quality Inn, and for the price, it lived up to its name. The staff were welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included, with sausage gravy and biscuits or waffles that morning. With the 10% AAA discount, the room came to $65 for the night. It met all my needs, and I'll definitely stay again.

The place smelled bad throughout, felt unclean, and the staff were dismissive and unwelcoming. We had to switch rooms after they knowingly put us in one that didn't work properly. The beds were dirty, the bathrooms dated, and the whole non-smoking floor smelled of cigarettes and mold. The AC units barely worked, there was no elevator, and the appliances seemed questionable. Don't get me started on the Wi-Fi: it had no password and somehow made my phone location show Dubai. I didn't find bed bugs, but who knows. Sketchy. I wish I could give it zero stars. Someone needs to gut the place and start over.
