Maple Leaf Motel

Even my highly critical teen daughters approved of our weekend here. The family running the motel seems proud to give guests a quality experience, and rooms were made up daily, something I haven’t seen anywhere since COVID. Room 141 was very clean and nicely decorated, with a spacious bathroom and large tub. The mattresses were thick and plush, the beds very comfortable, and the white linens crisp. The complimentary soap and shampoo were Aveda. We also had a charming river view from our room.

From outside it looks pretty plain, but inside was delightful. We came for an event in nearby Washington, and this room was the best of our weeklong New England trip, including stays in larger towns at national chains. It looked brand-new and had good furnishings, a fridge and microwave, comfy beds, a brightly lit bathroom, and a HUGE TV. The one thing I’d change is adding a back driveway entrance farther from the curve on US-7, where traffic speeds around. Exiting the parking lot was a bit of an adventure.

Handy place to stay if you’d rather not travel all the way to Danbury. The room and beds were clean, and it was quiet. TV and wifi too.

The staff made us feel welcome, and the room was spotless, comfortable, and recently renovated. It was also wonderfully quiet, with a view of the river. There wasn’t anywhere else to sit besides the bed, though the inn has larger rooms. We took the room that was available when we booked. Finding a place to stay in New Milford itself without paying exorbitant prices is tough, so I’d happily come back and recommend this lovely inn.
