Hampton Inn & Suites New Orleans Canal St. French Quarter

The front desk staff were friendly, and the room was functional enough, but the temperature never fell below 73 despite maintenance resetting the system. If you prefer to sleep in cool air, this may not work for you. We stayed one night while passing through New Orleans. Parking is in a building behind the hotel, so getting to your car means walking around the buildings. I found that a bit sketchy at night. I know it’s a city, but there were many homeless people around, and I wouldn’t feel safe doing that as a woman or with small children.

The price for this area was fantastic, and parking was convenient, right nearby for $25 per entry. The hotel is only a short walk from the French Quarter and waterfront. The rooms and interior looked recently renovated, beautiful, and pleasant. Breakfast was standard American fare. Great stay and amazing value!

Those high ceilings and huge windows made our room feel bright and open. The building is historic and stunning, with much more character than a typical Hampton Inn. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the beds had the super-comfortable feel I expect from Hilton. Five stars for the mix of historic soul and modern luxury.

The staff were nice, and the continental-style breakfast included a waffle maker. We chose this place at the last minute for one extra night in NOLA. It’s a few blocks from Bourbon Street and outside the center of the French Quarter, which was fine for us. The room was small and a little awkward, and there was a strong smell at check-in, though it could have been anything. The water took ages to get even a little warm, and really never did. Still, it wasn’t bad overall.
