Breakfast came with the stay, and the staff were so welcoming. The room was a really good price, with a great atmosphere. It’s an old house turned into a hostel, which gave the place a cozy, home-like feel, and I loved the building overall. There was only one shower, which was definitely inconvenient, but I had an amazing stay.

The people were great and I had a super fun stay. I really liked the location, and the gated parking was very convenient. A few things could use attention: there was a little mold on the ceiling, the water pressure was barely there, and it got quite warm in the daytime sun. Blackout curtains would’ve helped. I’ll be back.

I had a great time here and would book again when I return to New Orleans. The staff hosted a different activity each day, from bar hopping and card games to city tours and trying food at nearby places. Breakfast was free, with pancakes or waffles, oatmeal, sometimes fruit cups, and hot coffee or tea. Connor and Suzanne were helpful and knew a lot about both the hostel and the area. Guests were welcoming, and I had fun playing cards and exploring with people, though some kept to themselves. The hostel is right in the heart of French Quarters, a short walk from Bourbon Street. Since it’s an old building, the walls are thin. I was lucky to be upstairs, but people in the downstairs rooms by the common room said drunk guests coming and going late kept them awake. I’m a light sleeper too, so good earplugs would help a lot.

I gave it five stars for the kind, helpful staff and the other guests, who were even better. They really helped people get the most out of their trips. It’s a great low-budget place, close to everything for late nights and exploring, and good for meeting friends. I stayed in the six-bed women’s dorm. People were moved around a lot, but that’s to be expected in a hostel.

It was my first solo road trip and first hostel stay, and I loved it. The place was clean and the staff were wonderful. Gated parking is limited and costs a bit more than one of the beds, but even with that extra expense it was much better than a cheap motel. I also didn’t have to walk a long way from wherever I might have found parking to get to the hostel. Definitely not my last hostel stay!
