The decor throughout the hotel is amazing and really sets the mood. I stayed in the one-bedroom apartment, and the extra room, small kitchen, and washer and dryer were nice to have. There are several work areas in the building, many serving food and drinks, and the gym is large, well maintained, and has plenty of equipment. It's also within walking distance of some Mardi Gras parades. The only little downsides were no connected parking lot, though there's street parking or a surface lot a block away, and no towel bars in the bathroom, which seemed odd. I'd absolutely stay again. Thanks Memoir!

My issue was the room, though the people were wonderful. Brandon, Jay, Mr. Chester, Kolby, River, Stephanie, and Ari in Common House were kind and helpful. They felt like friends within minutes, and I'd come back just for them. The rooftop pool and view were beautiful, comfy, and serene, and the gym was really nice, with a window that made working out enjoyable. But the room smelled terrible, like sewage, apparently from the pipes visible around it. I told Jay and asked for Lysol or something to help, and he assisted right away, which I appreciated. Having to spray every 10-15 minutes while we were there took away from the relaxing trip I expected. I'd read reviews about the TV and thought casting from my phone would work, but it wouldn't cast anything. It turned on to a black screen and felt like it was just there for show. The room also wasn't clean enough. The living room couch looked spotty, and the shower had lots of debris as though it hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests, so I had to clean it myself. I like white towels because stains can't be hidden, but these had visible stains, which really put me off and disgusted me. The room stay was just okay. I'd give them another chance in a different room, if it didn't smell like sewage and the room and towels were cleaned to a decent standard.

The rooms were amazing, huge, and had a nice living room area, plus very good showers. I also enjoyed the clubhouse access, which costs extra. The pool area was a great place to hang out and order food and drinks, and it never got too busy. It's a short-stay kind of place, so service felt more like a concierge than a hotel, but they were there for my late 11 pm check-in and handed over my key efficiently. The property is in a quiet, attractive part of New Orleans. I'd definitely come back when I'm in NOLA again, and I hope I do.

I felt like I'd arrived at a party before the host was ready. The room was dirty, with thick dust and little black hairs all over, including on the bed. There were boogers on the wall, and a film covered the shower tiles below knee height, as if that area hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. Another reviewer was right about the fan noise. It blares on and off all night in an alarm clock pattern, breaking up your sleep. The hard mattress made it even harder to rest. More than once I considered moving to the couch. The staff were polite enough, but not friendly. A “welcome in,” “good morning,” or other standard greeting was hard to get, and some staff didn't look hygienic. I'm sad I've still got a few more days here.

The staff were welcoming and helpful the whole time, and getting around was easy: the convention center, coffee shops, and restaurants were all close by, with nothing we needed more than a 10-minute walk away. We paid about what a standard hotel room would cost and got a beautifully furnished place with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and balcony. It was spotless, thoughtfully designed, and smelled great as soon as we came in. This stay has made ordinary hotels hard to go back to. We’d happily return. One thing to know: kids are welcome, but the Common House is for adults 18 and up.
