Super 8 by Wyndham New Orleans

It's right by the city, and for the price it's a pretty great spot. The beds and sheets were clean, there was a nice pool and a clean little gym, and the breakfast was decent if you got there early. The neighborhood isn't the best, but it's gated and has plenty of cameras. Tourists who say New Orleans east is a bad area might want to research it more before coming, since staying uptown, in the Garden District, CBD, or Warehouse District will cost double.

No issues with my stay. The room smelled nice, and both it and the lobby were clean. The woman at the front desk was really helpful. I left my key card in the room twice, and she reprogrammed replacements without hesitation or attitude. I only took a video, so the attached pictures are screenshots. 4/25/26

My son and I had a cool stay overall, though my wife wouldn't stay here with me, lol. The rooms were clean and the service was good, and there's free parking if you're taking a cruise. Downtown is about a ten-minute drive, and a city bus stops across the street. The breakfast ends too early, at 9 am, and there's no eggs or meat. I'd put coffee out in the front area for people who want some. Service Station by U Haul is a five-minute walk and serves hot breakfast and lunch, with a full spread including gumbo, red beans and rice, fish, chicken, several sides, and stuffed bell peppers on Friday. It's not an area to hang around after dark, so don't wander much.

The hotel was beautiful and clean, and I liked the painting and overall look. My car felt safe there, and I'd probably return if I'm back in town. While we waited at the desk to get a room, several people mentioned that room service had skipped cleaning their rooms. We decided to give it a try anyway because we were tired, and the service was really nice.
