The Printing Press

Loved the spacious place, especially the balcony for watching the sunset. The bed was comfortable, the tub was great, the bathroom was well lit, the kitchen was beautiful, and the closet was huge. The washer and dryer saved me after liquid spilled in my suitcase. They didn’t have spices or olive oil, which kind of sucked, and the bathroom sink drained really slowly. It was nice being out of the Bourbon madness while still close enough to walk to work. Fine dining and the market were nearby, which was convenient, and I’d stay again. It’s a beautiful, secure building, but there was no damn parking out front. I’m not sure if the area is a tow zone or junkyard or what, but they need to remove the broken-down cars.

The apartment was just as pictured, and both beds were really comfortable. We stayed in unit 101, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom place with a private patio, and the location made the trip: it felt like a safe neighborhood, with the Superdome and French Quarter only minutes away on foot. We even had dinner at the restaurant out front. Sonder had left cute Swiftie treats for guests, too. This was our first Sonder stay, for a couples' Halloween weekend during the Taylor Swift takeover. We had originally booked Duncan plaza, then got an email saying Sonder was no longer operating there and we'd be moved. I was worried something might go wrong on such a busy weekend, but a representative put me at ease. The check-in details arrived three days ahead, just as planned. There were a couple of small annoyances: the shower drained slowly, and the apartment showed some wear. There was no luggage storage, though a Bounce drop-off was right around the corner. Those things didn't take much away from a stay we loved. We're already plotting a return to this exact unit, or maybe bringing more friends and booking the three-bedroom upstairs. Getting around was easy, with a grocery store and drug store nearby and the trolley line close as well. The building felt secure: you needed a code for the courtyard entrance from the street, another for the building, and one more for the unit. We had one problem that meant contacting customer service, and someone was at our door within 30 minutes. My friends and I stayed at the end of last September, and it was a lovely experience. The place was clean and nearly as comfortable as home. I was surprised by how much was already provided, from dish and laundry detergent to soap, shampoo, and lotion. The shower was huge and luxurious, and I really liked having a private patio. I'd recommend this location without hesitation.

The apartment was nice and had what we needed. The queen bed squeaked a lot, and the lobby had an unpleasant smell when you came in. I'd stay again, though it would be a better visit if those things were fixed.
