Hampton Inn New Philadelphia

The bed and pillows could use an update because they weren’t especially comfortable. Aside from that, I had a nice room in a very clean hotel, with great breakfast and wonderful staff. Everything else was excellent.

For our family wedding group, they handed out welcome bags and water, and arranged donuts for Sunday morning, which we paid for. The donuts were great, and they even added a cute sign without us asking. That was a lovely touch as everyone headed out after the wedding. The staff were accommodating and nice. The hotel was very nice and close to Walmart, Starbucks, Menards, Texas Roadhouse, and Taco Bell.

We had no water the morning I needed to get ready for a meeting, and I left the Hampton Inn Dover Pa without a shower. The first person I called said it should be back in an hour. When I called again an hour later, the answer was that they didn’t know when it would be restored. Since checkout was at 11 AM, I said I wouldn’t leave until I could shower, and was told it was okay to go past checkout. There still wasn’t enough time to shower, dress, and make my meeting. When I asked why nobody had offered another solution, the woman in charge said, “We never thought of that.” I requested a refund and got no response. I called the hotel today and was told we could have stayed an extra night for free, but when I asked if that had been offered to me, she said no. That felt like an afterthought to appease themselves. I stayed on Aug 6th, 2025. Right after checking in, I was sarcastically accused of not paying the pet fee. The representative then checked the just-completed check-in and found everything was in order. Staff were condescending and ignorant. Unexpected problems happen, but the business should train its people. How many guests left dirty that morning? This rewards member wants a refund. Excuses and afterthoughts aren’t a way to run a business, and the owner should know how her staff treated me.

Severe weather and cancelled flights meant I couldn’t complete my stay at the last minute. Mark handled the situation for me with a lot of help and grace.
