Black Dolphin Inn

The staff were courteous and helpful from booking through checkout. The included breakfast was good, and we liked having the option to eat in our room. Serving it in a to-go container took away from the presentation, though; plates would have been nicer. We were disappointed that a couple of things didn't get followed through on as we'd expect for the price and reputation. The coffee pot in our room didn't work. Staff said it would be replaced, but it never was. We didn't get housekeeping during the stay, either. We didn't need much, but would have liked the option of fresh towels, toiletries, and a light tidy-up. It's convenient to downtown restaurants and bars, and across the street from the intracoastal. The fairly busy road between the inn and the water can be noisy when you're enjoying the view. Overall, we had a positive stay and would consider coming back.

The two mornings we stayed at Black Dolphin, we watched dolphins feeding across the street in the Indian River from our second-floor balcony, with fresh hot coffee. We also enjoyed hot breakfasts and meeting other couples staying at Black Dolphin. It was a very relaxing atmosphere, far better than any hotel stay.

The personalized breakfast was a great surprise, and the staff were such friendly people who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. This is a unique property that made us feel right at home. Both the property and rooms are beautiful and extremely well maintained. We have so many good things to say about our stay.

We had a very happy two days here and wished we could have stayed longer. Our room overlooked the Indian River and had its own balcony. It was lovely to sit out there with morning coffee or a glass of the fine wine provided for the room. The inn is modern Mediterranean, with tasteful details throughout. Parking was convenient. The main lounge has a quaint bar serving wine or beer, a dining area, and a comfortable sofa space for meeting people. The interior plaza was another nice spot to sit and relax. The staff, Josh, Taylor, Jason, AMY?, were friendly and attentive. Taylor and Jason gave us good restaurant suggestions. Breakfast is included, and we enjoyed the omelet or French toast. We'll be back.
