Fairfield Inn by Marriott Pittsburgh New Stanton

I’d be happy to stay here again. It’s clean, cozy, updated, and a comfortable place to unwind. The bed was one of the best I’ve slept in at a hotel, and I liked being able to stream on the TV. Being pet-friendly made the trip easier, too. We lost some pool time because the front desk said it closed at 9:30 PM, but it’s actually open until 10. I hope the staff can get consistent hours, and it’d be great if the pool stayed open later or had adult swim until midnight. The Fairfield Inn in New Stanton was a really nice stay.

The room had ants, and the microwave didn’t work. I’d booked Saturday through Monday and had to go downstairs Sunday because my key stopped working and needed to be reactivated. We’d requested a portable crib when booking and called to confirm one would be there, but it wasn’t. When I asked, they gave me one from a storage room where it had been sitting uncovered on the ground. The shower body wash was empty, which I only discovered once I was already in the shower.

For a road trip, this was an easy place to stop, with quick check-in, friendly staff, and a clean, comfortable room. The bed and pillows were cozy, and I liked having a fridge for snacks and drinks. Breakfast was included, with a good range of hot choices, and the area stayed stocked and tidy. There’s a small indoor pool and a fitness area if you need to move around after driving. It’s right off the interstate, which makes getting back on the road easy, though the highway can be noisy. Light sleepers may want a room higher up or away from the road. It’s no fancy resort, just a solid, no-drama place for a night or two. I’d stay at Fairfield by Marriott in New Stanton again.

The rooms were clean and nothing special, and breakfast was decent. They didn’t have regular bacon or sausage, but the biscuits and gravy were a nice change. Service was the problem. Police were talking with employees about another employee when we arrived, which made waiting to check in awkward. We’d asked not to be put next to the elevator and were told that could be accommodated, but that’s where our room was. The key didn’t work either, so we had to head back downstairs. Later, we asked for a dental kit and were told it was being handled, but it never came. A group of kids were allowed to play loudly in the halls all night. At breakfast, the employee stocking the bar hovered while people got food, then stood watching me and my friends eat. It was weird and annoying. Staff also let a pregnant woman come downstairs wearing only a bra while children were there.
