Americana Inn

We had a wonderful view of the Thanksgiving Parade from the Americana Inn, which made the trip feel magical. It was also easy to get around from there, with shopping, sightseeing, and places to eat all within walking distance. The staff made us comfortable bringing the kids, and there were plenty of family-friendly activities nearby. It was a great choice for exploring NYC with children.

A reliable, straightforward place to stay in Sunset Park. The rooms were clean and the service consistent, both about what I’d expect. Its main advantage is the convenient location for getting around the area.

Midtown Manhattan was easy to explore from here, and all the staff I met were courteous and friendly. They had coffee and bagels in the morning, and there were several clean shared bathrooms on my floor. My small room on the fifth floor had a twin bed, desk, sink, closet, TV, and air-conditioning. The hotel wasn’t busy during my one-night stay in late October, and the room was comfortable enough. I thought it cost too much for the size and what you get, though New York is expensive. You also have to pay a refundable deposit at check-in. I’d still stay again.

For the price, I was very happy with our stay. Other hotels cost about twice as much. Our spacious, clean three-bed room was on the fourth floor and had two big windows overlooking 38th Street, which I loved, although the street noise was pretty loud, as is common around here. The floor had four wings with about four rooms each and one lockable bathroom per wing, so it was easy to find one free. There was always hot water. The staff were very friendly. I heard the room had recently been renovated.
