Avion Inn Near LGA Airport, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The rooms were standard, but the service was attentive and helpful, and my stay was fantastic. I had an excellent 5-star experience and would highly recommend it. The location near LGA was especially convenient and deserves five stars.

Ingrid at the desk was great, and the beds were great too. We had easy public transit access, were close to the airport, and got a GREAT VIEW OF MIDTOWN! The hotel is at the far end of The runaways, and some nights it was VERY loud from 9-midnight. There were NO CLOSETS! The shuttle service wasn't available for us going out or coming back. And the "Free breakfast" was just grab-and-go.

The day we left, the shuttle bus had a coolant leak. As soon as we got to the lobby, the front desk called us a cab and got us to the airport on time. We'd scheduled the shuttle, and it was helpful that they acted so quickly. The room was clean and cold, a big plus, with a very comfy bed and shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion in the bathroom. We got extra towels right away when we asked. The shuttle service was handy, and when it isn't running at your time, you can take one to the hertz and walk about five minutes from there. We were in town for a concert and to explore. The grab-and-go breakfast wasn't the best, but we didn't use it because we went out for breakfast each morning. The hotel may not suit you if you want to be within walking distance of busy spots. We walked about 1.5 miles to the lively part of the city, and it was a nice, safe-feeling walk.

It's a nice place to stay, with good, friendly staff. The breakfast bag is decent, with an apple, muffin, apple juice, and protein bar. Planes pass nearby, though, and it's very loud throughout the day. If you're traveling with kids or are a light sleeper, it might not suit you. If you can manage the noise, the place is good.
