CIVILIAN Hotel

The location was hard to beat, just two blocks from Times Square and the subway, with shops and restaurants right nearby. For what we got, the price felt more than affordable, and I had a lovely birthday trip. I’m definitely staying here again. The hotel had a gorgeous Gatsby-theater feel, with beautiful decor and spotless rooms. Staff were pleasant and incredibly helpful from the start. Our accommodations were comfortable and well-appointed. We also enjoyed the onsite restaurant and cocktail bar, and there’s a rooftop club, though at -4 degrees it was too cold to enjoy the balcony.

David wrote us a personal note and made a point of congratulating us in person on our anniversary. The hotel surprised us with champagne and other goodies in our room, such a thoughtful gesture that went above and beyond. I’ve already recommended the place to a lot of people and will definitely come back. We had an amazing stay at the Civilian Hotel. The rooms suited our packed, theatre-filled trip perfectly, the morning coffee was delicious, and everyone on staff was very kind.

We loved the rooftop bar and cocktail lounge, and Rosevale’s manager is a doll. I highly recommend checking it out if you stay here. The staff were super friendly and accommodating during our honeymoon, and they went above and beyond to make us feel special. The room is small but functional for two, though I think it’d be more comfortable for one. There isn’t much bathroom privacy, but I suppose that’s common in most New York City hotels. The location is fantastic for tourists going to Broadway shows, Times Square, or shopping. We had trouble figuring out the thermostat, and I’m not sure we ever managed to control it. The room got kind of toasty, but it was nice that we could crack a window. I’d like to keep this hotel to myself, but it’s too good not to share honestly.

I had a wonderful birthday stay, and Hotel Civilians even welcomed my dog. The rooftop bar was a favorite, with great food, drinks, and views. The location is perfect, close to everything in Midtown, and the hotel felt brand new, clean, and beautifully designed. I stayed three nights and got a lovely surprise upgrade to a larger room with a beautiful Manhattan view, room 1604. Lisa, Nick, and Kira at the front desk and in customer service were amazing. They went above and beyond to make my birthday feel special. I absolutely loved my stay and can’t wait to come back.
