Fasano Fifth Avenue I Private Members Club & Hotel

Best vibe and best private club. The steak is great. The wine list is small, but that's not a deal breaker.

I ate at the bar restaurant during a private event, and the service is what earned it five stars from me. I don't hand those out often. The food didn't exactly blow me away, but my salmon was tasty. I usually like food pretty rare, and it wasn't cooked that way, probably the safer choice for a big group. People who ordered steak had plenty of good things to say. The tiramisu for dessert was excellent. I'd recommend going if you get the chance.

We had lunch with tagliatelle and ragù, plus sea bass in a delicious fish soup, and both were really good. Earlier, my French-style breakfast and brunch was incredible, especially the mushroom and cheese omelette, so delicious. The small hotel felt warm and welcoming, with excellent, friendly reception staff. It was a quiet Wednesday, too. The hotel is on 5th Avenue, right across from Central Park, a perfect location. I was invited to a members-only rum tasting featuring Ten to One Rum, with three signature cocktails and light bites through the evening. Fasano is a private membership hotel for longer stays, and only members can book a room or visit the bar and restaurant. That membership makes it feel upscale and tucked away, without being overly crowded, right by Central Park. The hotel rooms also have park views, and the service is top notch.
